Willie Revillame to donate P5.1M for jeepney drivers, families of killed OFWs in Beirut explosion

Actor and TV host Willie Revillame announced during the Palace press briefing on Friday, August 7, that he will be donating P5 million for displaced jeepney drivers and P100,000 for the families of Oversease Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were killed in the explosion in Beirut.

The celebrity joined Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in his virtual presser these past two weeks which was being held at Revillame’s WilTower in Quezon City, after Roque’s office was closed due to COVID-19 cases.

Revillame stated that he wants to extend his hands because he is still able to continue his work amid the pandemic through GMA 7’s Wowowin Tutok to Win

Revillame will be turning over the check to the Presidential Spokesperson’s office, in which he stated that he have no idea how the donation will be distributed.

Siguro sayo (Roque) nalang,” Willie added.

His plan is to initially release P5 million, with another P5 million next month.

Roque agreed to accept the Revillame’s donations which will be turned over to the Social Welfare and Transportation government departments.

Moreover, Revillame added that he is willing to give P100,000 cash assistance to the four families of OFWs who were killed in the explosion of Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday.

Roque stated that the said donation will be turned over to Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
